ReplyDelete1. After listening to Chris, I feel like I’m getting a lot more understanding of how different people think differently about schools and education.
2. I think Chris’s idea for how schools should be is great. Like he said, technology should be invisible. It should surround us without us knowing it’s really there.
3. Technology surrounding us like oxygen and it being invisible is how it should be. We need to stop thinking about using this technology and just start using it. (Not thinking about it.)
4. If Chris Lehmann was my principle, I think that’d be really cool mainly because of his ideas on how schools, education, and teaching students are so amazing and so thought out.

I kind of think schools are dropping the ball by not allowing students to use cell phones and stuff like that because we as students may need our phones or iphones for calculators if the school does not provide one. Though I think the students shouldn’t be texting anybody during school because it can cause them to lose focus. Music on the other hand can really help a student stay focused. Many students learn differently, learn differently, and think differently.

It would be really cool being a student at Chris’s school, it would be a good enviroment to learn.

The schools are kind of dropping the ball by not allowing students to use technology they own because the students are growing up in a ‘cyber world.’
I think it would be awesome to have a principal like him because he seems to really focus on the educational needs of children and wants to help them understand better than most schools. It would be very interesting that they teach young people like us about more technology and how more and newer things work. The idea of technology is so interesting and its true its everywhere, but not everyone can depend on technology only because it’s not full proof enough to hold its signal or other reasons etc. I think it would be an interesting experience to be a student at the school where he is the principal. I’m not so sure if the teachers are “dropping the ball” by not letting the students use the electronics they own in the classroom because, yea it would be awesome to be able to use our cell phones and our IPod touch’s etc, but then it could be a distraction to some maybe most students because they could get off track and doing what they aren’t supposed to, get off focus.

ReplyDeleteI think it would be cool having a principal like him in the school. And yeah I think it’s a good idea that they teach us kids and not teach us subjects because I bet we can make a difference in what we learn from technology. Well technology isn’t that important but it’s totally makes a difference in our world. This guy has some pretty good ideas on what he wants for kids and for our education. It might be WAY different from the rest of the schools in the world but it might just work if you give it a try no one knows if it would work until you try it out. Plus we kids like to make things and see how things work out, after they are done. My idea about technology is that it’s all over the world and well a lot of people don’t really know how to use the different things we have in the world. If the kids knew how to use some of this stuff we have when they are young that would be way different but sometimes I thinks it’s not all about learning kids, have to be kids and have some fun. Well sometimes I think it would be helpful if they would let us use our technology that we own, but at the same time some kids might be to busy texting or doing something different. Well Chris has some pretty good ideas about using technology and for his students too, it could make a difference….?
I feel that he is trying to push the technology to much for kids. I think he has some great ideas for how education should be know days except for all the technology I think he is right that kids should not be measured on their testing abilities. Yes it is nice but for someone like me who farm and ranches it’s hard to get into the grove of all of this stuff. Like I said earlier the technology is getting pretty advanced and it should not be pushed as hard as other things. I think it would be pretty neat to be a student at his school do to the fact he wants to eliminate test. Just like Beth Still has eliminated them in her class. No I think that it is just fine that kids can’t use cell phone, iPod touch, laptops, etc. because there is no guarantee they are doing what they should be doing. Most kids will screw off and surf the net and text people if that would ever pass. So I think it should be this way.

He's absolutely right technology should be all around us consuming us into using it.
i believe being under his command would be inspirational and i would be truly enthused to work with him.
yes students minds are changing along with our world, as technologies change the people along the way change and adapt with it as well.

It would be fantistic going to school where they think about you not their job.

The schools should allow the more technology but I don’t think they are dropping the ball because lots of pepole misues technology.

1. Chris Lehmann has very good points in the things he talked about in his video, such as we should teach the kids not subjects, and also teachers should have kids doing projects to show them if we are learning instead of testing.

4. If Chris was the principal where I went to school I think the students and the learning would be 10 times different then what it is here in Gering. Things would be better. Not as many kids failing.

I agree with him with almost everything he was talking about. I don’t agree technology should be everything, yes people of all ages should learn how to use it, but it is OK to do some hands on work. His idea on education is a great one, it teaches students to figure things out on their own. This generation is expecting someone to hold their hand, but with his type of education it just might help students learn how to think on their own. Has long has technology don’t blind us from the outside world. Yes in some ways the schools are "dropping the ball", I can understand that students could easily get distracted from work because of the cell phone use or Ipod use, but if you think about it 98% of students now a days have all of that and use it in the class. They just try not to get caught by the instructor. I will agree with Chris the schools should allow more usage of technology.

It’s a good idea but I think it would be a little hard for kids to learn to do it because everyone is so used to using paper and pencil.

1.Chris Lehmann is a really good speaker. I agree with Chris a lot on everything he is saying. Chris can get his point across and you can tell that he is very passionate about what he was saying. I do like his idea about schools.

3.I think that technology is a very important in our day. We wouldn’t really know what we would do without technology. When it comes to school I think that technology like cell phones and stuff are still important. We should be able to have cell phones and I-pods as long as it dosesnt affect what you are doing and cause an distraction.

I think that he is good at what he is saying he is saying that school is very important and that it is good that he thinks about when we take a test that we should not get judge from one test that it should matter how good we do every day in our class. Which is so true, he is trying to change things about school which is amazing that we should build new schools create researches, caring institutions. You should never forget that the teachers are very important they are the ones that are training us learning different things making us graduate. I really like what he thinks and no one now’s about education and keeps dreaming and it should be about the kids.
ReplyDeleteThat the education should be about its about the kids there trying to graduate and that the teachers are very important because they are helping us do our work and make us work hard at our assignments and push us to graduate. Which is good for the kids? The kids should be the ones that really want to do the assignments and do their work. That’s what I think about the education should be.
Well I think technology is good for us because it is teaching us new things and later on in life there is going to be all about technology. What he says is that the kids love using the computers. I like the computers and the kids like it because it is easier for us.
I think I would like that school because of how inspiring he is to the students. I like how he says that technologies are good for us. Which is true? He is an outgoing principle and I would like for him to be our principal.
I think that we should be able to use our phone during passing time I would understand not having them in class. You are just interrupting the class room and not paying attention of what the teacher is teaching you. And If I was a teacher I would not like that at all. I think like iPods are okay because they aunt bothering anyone and I would let my students use them when the kids are doing there assignments but not when I am talking

ReplyDelete1. I feel like hes got some pretty good incite on what needs to be changed and what is wrong and right about how students are taught. Hes got really good ideas that I think could definitely help.
2. I think his idea of how education should be is a good idea. Technology is really where everything is headed when it comes to learning anyway. We might as well all get it started.
3. I love technology and it definitely helps the learning process. I think if technology was the basis of how we got our work done, turned in and learned. It would make it a lot more easy and excessable. There would be no need for printing stuff, wasting paper, or ink or any of the necessary costs schools go through.
4. I think it would probably be a very close knit school. Hed probably be a cool principle and know exactly how to work with his students their way that they best learn. A school with him as a principle probably has a lot of very smart kids also. Kids that enjoy learning and coming to school everyday. Which is something that I definitely would not mind feeling about school.
5. I think that yes, schools are dropping the ball by not allowing students to use technology in schools because. He is right technolgy for students is like air. They use it everyday of their life. And a lot of teenagers these days are pretty dependent on technology. So taking it away from them is like taking their life away. It’s everyone communicates today, I think that if it were to be used right technology in school s could bring the world into a whole new era of learning.
I like listening to Chris he says a lot of cool things and I like what he talks about because he is trying to make school to where there is no paper just you and your computer.
ReplyDeleteHis idea of education sound like something I would like because it seems simpler and you don’t have to worry about having paper and pencils when you have a computer.
I like technology it makes life simple and easy but without technology we would have nothing so technology is cool. On computers we get to save our work so we don’t lose it but you do work on paper you lose it and I think it would be hard to lose a computer that’s why I like technology.
I think it would be cool but different, it would be a step by step thing to learnj everything they want us to on the computer I would have to learn a lot of things about the computer and hoe to do things but I would be worth the time because not very many people have a chance to o to a school like that until now.
I think that schools should let us use lab tops in class and the only reasons schools don’t like technology is because they don’t know how to use it. if schools knew how to use technology to their advantage it would be a lot better.
