We have spent the last couple of days discussing social media and how it has revolutionized education. After everything we have talked about how do you see social media changing education? Make sure you include an explanation of what social media is in your response.
Social media has changed the way many people communicate around the world doctors businesses lawyers, many people but now social networking is also being used in education teachers using twitter, or facebook, as a tool for classroom education. I think social networking should be used in classrooms all around the world sharing ideas getting help from other students or just being able to compare schools; teachers from an older age may not like to try this idea only because I don’t think they understand how to even sometimes use the internet as a form of education. I see as a resource for example twitter, what if your researching china sure you have google and geography books and maps but you will never find another resource better then some one who lives there, and on twitter you could communicate with them in minute or even seconds, so social media has not only turned into a way to communicate with friends or make friends but also just turned into a classroom resource
ReplyDeleteI see social media changing my eduction by alot. we could start using twitter facebook and you tube. We all could use it for education. We could use youtube for educational videos and facebook we could blog about our assiments. I think it would be a smart way of helping out the learning.
ReplyDeleteThe web gives us the ability to talk to people from all over the world. In just a click of a button you can talk to somebody 1 million miles away. Without technology we wouldn’t have such great communication skills. For instance, if you’re sick at home with the flu and can’t make it to school, you can go online and get your assignments. If you have a question about something just go to twitter and blog about it. Someone will surely have the answer. Social networking makes our lives a lot easier.
ReplyDeleteSocial networking is good for the media but changing its views on to how it can be more helpful world. I say social media can be helpful by hearing and summarizing the thoughts of others. Now people all over the world can brainstorm ideas within just a click of a button. Social networking doesn’t necessarily mean discussing everything about your outside of life of school, but discussing what you can in a classroom to help get ideas from a another voice.
ReplyDeleteI think there are goods and bads about the how it is changing. I don't like it because creepy people can still find you. Also it still causes problems. Students can get real distracted if you have them get on them in school. I guess facebook and twitter can come in handie. I think it changing the social media bad in a way. Kids are suppose to be active, not sit at home and get lazy by staying on the computer.

I love the idea of using face book and twitter in class because you can meat people like the President and the people in the white house like we did last year in are S.S. class.
I think that social media is supports the human need for social interaction, using Internet- and web-based technologies to transform broadcast media monologues.

To me social media is where people get to talk to each other and learn about each others cultures. You can share from clothing styles all the way to education.I think we can expand our education through social media because there are so many teachers who love their job that if somebody were to ask them any question they would love to answer it and carry on a conversation about that topic. So, there for we are sharing each others knowledge, learning more, and breaking down the boundries of individuals education. Also, that gives us the oppertunity to go to higher levels of education and be the best that we can be. We even can have it broken down to us in a simpler matter so we can understand what ever it is we are having problems with.
ReplyDeletei realy dont know what to say. uuummm. i think that twitter can help people have a voice. and possibly change some of the laws that are obssured. myspace in my opinion are just social net working and doesnt realy have a purpose.i use to be against all the computer crap. but now i understand that that bull crap can help me do what i want to for my life work.twitter can be benifical in ways like, if you have a question and you dont know the answer to it and your teacher is unavailable you can log onto twitte r and get your answer. thats pretty cool. and i dont realy know what else to say so see ya
ReplyDeleteSocial media as i define it as expaning your learning methods into real world life but just having it counstantly updated. i like that all these new experiments with social media are now being brought into the class room . now more students are able to relate more to the classes they are taking and for the most part not fall asleep trying to pay attention to a boring lecture. i think one way social media is good for the classroom is that students are more interacted to what they are learning. they learn more by experimenting and experincing what they are being taught. . . .

Social media is becoming such a success, that people are using it for communication, education, and advertisement. Social media is a big thing right now especially because many people have and use a lot of modern technology. I think the web gives us ability to look up whatever we need to and find many answers. With just a click of a button, you can do many things on the web.
ReplyDeleteI think that social media is going to be something everyone is going to use. It would make learning easier and it would be easier for teachers and students to get ahold of each other. It would allow students to interact with people from all over instead of just students that they attend class with. It would give them the ability to be able to find out whats going on with other students.

Students can also work together with other students from all around the world. It would be a really good idea to use social media in class. We could meet a lot of new people.
